Who am I?

I am Robert Ricketts.  I've been in the IT (Information Technology) business since 1980, starting my career working on huge "mainframe" computers that filled vast, heavily air-conditioned rooms.

Since Jan 2006, I've been an independent IT consultant doing work for residential and small business clients.  I recently moved from Columbia, Missouri (home of Mizzou, go Tigers!) to Palm Beach County.

Why Should You Hire Me?

When you hire Palm Beach County I.T., you are hiring me, the owner.  I do all work myself and farm-out nothing.  Two-thirds of my business in Columbia came from personal word-of-mouth referrals.  The remaining third came from other advertising.

I am fairly new to Florida so my client roster here isn't very deep yet.  But I have worked for hundreds of business and residential clients in my former town of Columbia, Missouri.

Business clients include physicians, dentists, attorneys, restaurants, CPAs and bookkeepers, mortgage brokers, Realtors, general contractors, artisans, rural mid-Missouri firms, pest control companies, and many more.

Residential clients include people from all walks of life and socio-economic backgrounds.  I've worked for modest, everyday folks and the affluent alike, including University of Missouri professors, a bank president and his family (still a current client), and numerous physicians both practicing and retired.

Any of these firms or individuals would be happy to give you a reference testifying to the work that I've done for them.  If you wish, just call me and I'll provide names and contact information.  It's bad form to publish reference names online, that's why you must call me.

Why Did I Move to Florida?

My significant other is a math professor at Florida International University.  She is a fabulous woman and is absolutely worth my relocating for.  My clients in Columbia are pleased for me, but aren't so happy that I'm gone.  But I continue to support them via remote control.  The Internet knows no geographical boundaries, after all.

I'm starting a new life in Florida and, of course, seek to build client relationships as I did in Columbia.
